Cast + Follow

The native Cast + Follow pair: envelope following, lookahead pre-ducking and dynamic EQ. AU and VST3 share the native purchase; Max for Live is sold separately.

What it does

  • Cast publishes a track's audio inside the host and Follow picks a Cast by name, so one source can drive several destinations
  • The same peak-tracing envelope follower as the Max for Live devices: lookahead pre-ducking, hold and crest bridging
  • Envelope-driven dynamic EQ with Mid/Side modes, plus a spectrum view of the source and the processed signal
  • Draw and Scroll scope views for checking the envelope against the source
  • Native plug-in windows that resize with the host, with one theme shared across open Cast and Follow instances
  • Save and reorder Follow presets in the built-in browser; drag FX tiles to change their order

Tested compatibility

  • macOS Apple Silicon arm64 only; no Intel or Universal binary in this release.
  • Deployment target macOS 13.0; checks ran on macOS 27.0.1, not earlier macOS versions.
  • Native AU and VST3 pairs; use matching Cast/Follow format and version within the same host process.
  • Offline native, signed archive/tamper and synthetic Console UI checks pass; real-host routing, audio and recall remain tester acceptance items.
  • Exact hardware and installation identity binding; signed licence required for authorized audio and optional skin grants.
  • Automatic background renewal is deferred; use explicit manual renewal or offline licence import and reload plug-in instances.
  • The bundled hero is an earlier 0.0.4 offscreen editor render. The website retains its existing native capture gallery; neither depicts this exact Mac build.
  • Existing Windows VST3 releases remain separate platform downloads; Max for Live is a separate purchase.

Release notes

0.0.5 macOS Apple Silicon tester release. Fixes intermittent Cast-to-Follow publication dropouts without changing parameter identities, state schema or DSP latency. Includes separately downloadable Developer ID-signed, notarized and stapled AU and VST3 pairs. The combined native pack includes both formats, documentation and the existing test-preview content; Console is downloaded separately from /console. AU and VST3 share the existing native purchase and seat policy. Purchasing stays closed; access is limited to existing authorized testers. Account connection is separate from machine activation. Use explicit manual renewal or offline import and reload instances; automatic background renewal is deferred. Output Gain/global Dry-Wet and the Coming Soon FX slots remain unconnected. The owner accepted the dropout fix in Live on the preceding 0.0.4 candidate; first-tester host/format/version, routing and saved-session recall acceptance remains required.
